Artista del mese di Ottobre: Simone Legno - Tokidiki My name is Simone Legno, I was born in Rome / Italy (June 1977) I always loved drawing and had boxes full of chewed, broken, unsharpen pencils since I'm a kidIn 2004 I moved to Los Angeles to develop my own................ ...TOKIDOKI apparel and art licensing brand with 2 business partners (Ivan and Pooneh Arnold) who support me in marketing and all the logistics that are behind the product developement.Just launched on the market the first Tee Shirt line, starting from California and little by little spreading around the world on other items like Vynil Toys with StrangeCo an Sf based company, art-skateboard, pin badges, iSkins (Ipod Holders), jewelry, accessories and more to come.In January 2006 the co-branded project called Tokidoki for leSportsac will spread in U.S., Japan and in the best stores world wide. Tokidoki designed a line of bags with the NY based brand for spring and more to come.At present designing the creative concept for the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week L.A. 2005, the main fashion event in LA and West Coast.Tokidoki.it started as my professional portfolio and artistic diary while living in Italy, where created illustration, design, advertising and new media design (with my new roman team at Vianet.it) for different clients like Volkswagen, Mtv, John Galliano, Champion, Toyota, Renault, Daihatsu, BenQ, Narcotic Bureau of Singapore, Telecom Italia, TIM and many more.Tokidoki is a happy world. it's the the cute and playful yet provocative and pure, sophisticated world I imagine and dream of.TOKIDOKI means "sometimes" in Japanese. I chose a Japanese word because I love Japan.I love everything from the ultra modern happy face of Shibuya to the serious magic silence of Kyoto. I chose "sometimes", because everyone waits for moments that change one's destiny. By simple chance or meeting a new person, tokidoki is the hope, the hidden energy everyone has inside that gives us the strength to face a new day and dream something positive, that something magical will happen to us. |
